Little Joy “Little Joy”

Little Joy “Little Joy”
2.5/5
‘Little Joy’ is the silver lining to The Strokes year-plus hiatus as it meant that Fabrizio Moretti (The Strokes) could take some time to hang out with Rodrigo Amarante (Los Hermanos) and newcomer Binki Shapiro to demo some songs and produce this lovely debut album. Taking its name from the local watering hole, having a drink seems like the most natural thing in the world while listening to this collection of indie/Caribbean/Bossa nova music. ‘Shoulder To Shoulder’ will have you slow-dancing your corona to Amarante’s crooning and ‘Don’t Watch Me Dancing’ will have similar effects with Shapiro’s Nico-like whisper. A little joy indeed at thirty minutes, I suggest you pour another drink and take two.
