Painting the town Pink
Pink’s national Australian tour kicks off in Newcastle on the 3rd June and runs all the way to 22nd August. The singer is set to travel around Australia playing at many sold-out gigs. Pink tickets are now only available on Ebay for as much as twice their face value.
Pink became an internationally renowned world-wide artist following the release of her first album, Can’t Take me Home. This included the Australian number one single, Most Girls as well as other successful singles for the artists such as There You Go. Pink (a.k.a Alecia Moore) followed this up with her second album M!ssundaztood. This second album marked a change of style for Pink from her first album and swayed more towards the pop genre than her previous R and B alliance.
One of Pink’s most famous singles was not from her album at all but from the Moulin Rouge official soundtrack. The collaboration with Lil’Kim, Christina Aguilera and Mya on the track “Lady Marmalade” hit the top of the singles charts in many countries.
In 2003, Pink released the album Try This, arguably her least successful album out of the five she has released. Following this album, Pink disappeared from the limelight and the music industry for three years.
This three year gap could be attributed to her marriage to motorbike professional Carey Hart; although the two quickly divorced, they are now reportedly dating again and Pink’s personal life is always under close scrutiny from the media.
Pink also used the time to work on her campaign for PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) even sending letters to members of the British royal family criticising their use of fur and of their involvement in fox hunting. Pink is also strongly opposed to KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) restaurants.
Back in 2006, Pink released album I’m Not Dead and made a tremendous comeback with many successful singles. She also used this album to broach more hard-hitting topics such as politics which can be heard in her song Dear Mr President.
Her most recent album, Funhouse, has been well received by fans across the globe and singles such as So What have become instant hits. Following this success, Pink is now undertaking her Australian national tour featuring hits from all five of her albums. With this in mind Pink fans can be guaranteed a fantastic show of singing, dancing and special effects.
