Paul Banks of Interpol goes solo
The lead singer of New York four piece indie band Interpol, Paul Banks is releasing a solo album in the US in early August. Banks will release the album titled Skyscraper under the alternative name of Julian Plenti.
According to Billboard, Banks has written under the name of Plenti for many years with some songs on the new album recorded more than ten years ago. Billboard also reports the album has a “cocky, sexy feel.”
Banks has been compared to the likes of Ian Curtis, the deceased front man of the band Joy Devision, as well as Richard Butler, the lead singer of The Psychedelic Furs. The album looks set to be a ripper with the vocals of Banks.
But to diehard fans of Interpol- don’t worry; the band is still busy rehearsing new material.
