Dempsy drops new single
‘Romona was a waitress’ is the second single from Something for Kate frontman Paul Dempsey’s forthcoming solo album.
Characterised by a distinctly different sound from ‘Out of the Airlock’ which is full of folky guitar and raw vocals, ‘Romona was a Waitress’ sees Paul on all instruments featured on the track lead by a mechanical pulse which leads into a gorgeous piano chorus.
Romona arrives digitally on July 3rd on itunes and then as a very limited edition CD single with 3 exclusive b-sides, including his cover of Kim Carnes classic, ‘Bette Davis Eyes’.
Paul’s debut solo album ‘Everything Is True’ will be released August 14 and includes eleven self penned songs on which Paul plays every instrument himself. The album was recorded earlier this year in a studio on the NSW Central Coast and mixed in Los Angeles.
There is only two dates remaining on his first solo tour at The Troubadour in Brisbane and they are sold out. Lucky punters who have Splendour tickets can catch Paul Dempsey there.
