Beastie Boys’ Adam Yauch (also known as MCA) has just released a video today revealing he has cancer.

Yauch has cancer of the preaortic gland and lymph node (a highly treatable form of cancer; my mother had the same cancer more than 20 years ago and is still kicking), which was revealed by a video featuring himself and fellow band member Adam Horowitz explaining his condition.

The band’s highly-anticipated new album Hot Sauce Committee would be pushed back from the previous September 15 release slot, and their upcoming gigs have all been cancelled due to the sad news.

Yauch is going to be receiving treatment shortly, so with a bit of rest and relaxation, hopefully the Beastie Boys will be back soon, bigger and better than ever.
