Tinpan Orange’s third album produced by Cat Empire’s Harry Angus.
Melbournian trio Tinpan Orange enlisted the help of Cat Empire and Jackson Jackson member Harry Angus to produce their third album, The Bottom of The Lake.
The graceful folk act has been touring small festivals and jazz clubs for years, with alluring melodies heard at many a Woodford Folk Festival. With Angus’ help, the trio has unleashed and repackaged their own brand of atmospheric folk.
With multi-instrumentalist Alex Burkoy playing the violin, mandolin, even aukulele, Tinpan Orange were hard at work discovering the meaning and direction of The Bottom of the Lake.
“The Bottom of the Lake is a mystery to me,” says front-woman Emily Lubitz.
“Sometimes it feels sad. Sometimes I think it’s like this fantastic world full of plants and mermaids. I like that dichotomy.”
And with that kind of imagination, The Bottom of the Lake is sure to open people’s minds.
The Bottom of the Lake is out now through Vitamin Records.
