Muse let slip details of a 2010 Big Day Out appearance
Hold onto something steady Muse fans. While the band have remained tight lipped in response to persistent rumours of an Australian tour this summer, guitarist dominic howard provided American radio station KROQ with the information they deprived Triple J this week by more or less confirming that the band will be down under for the Big Day Out next year. While being quizzed about their favourite places to tour and whether they get to go sightseeing while playing around the world, Chris replied that “Australia’s always a good place to see sights, [sic] cause we’re going to be doing the Big Day Out there.”
A throwaway comment maybe, but this Muse fan is going to take it as a very good sign.
Infamous for their electrifying live performances, it’s no surprise that the band have already planned a world tour despite their new record ‘The Resistance’ only being released on Friday. The new album has seen the English prog-rock darlings soar to new heights, infusing 80’s synth rhythms with dramatic classical pieces – climaxing with a three part symphony; performed by a 40 piece orchestra in the band’s private recording studio in Italy. The album’s depth only heightens their signature dark progressive tones and lead singer Matt Bellamy’s trademark high falsetto range, leaving fans hungry to devour the new album in a live setting.
They’ve rocked the Big Day Out before in its’ 17 year history, both in 2004 and 2007, so while we’ll have to wait until Thursday for the official line-up, Muse punters can sleep easy knowing that their return to our shores has been unofficially confirmed to be only months away.

I’d be stoked if they came again. They killed it at BDO OH SEVEN!
