Sydney-siders Cassette Kids will jet off around the nation next month with cool kids Canvas Kites and many more in tow, ahead of the release of their debut album Nothing on TV in March next year.

Katrina, the two Dans and Jake have climbed to sensational heights during their time spent touring, not the least being slotted alongside Lily Allen, The Presets, Grafton Primary, The Ting Tings, New Young Pony Club, Crystal Castles, Muscles, and a plethora of others. The Kids will soon be dropping into a town near you when the Lying Around Tour kicks off, their first national headline tour in 12 months. Why the long wait guys?

The busy little beavers knuckled down in the studio over the last few months with producers Richard Wilkinson, whose previous belt notches include Hot Chip, Adele, Magic Numbers and Carl Cox, and Michael Di Francesco of Van She who lent his talents to Ladyhawke. The result is sublime blend of true Cassette Kids attitude and stylised pop flare. Katrina says the message behind the album’s first single is loud and clear:

“’Lying Around’ has a great energy and quite a strong message: if you don’t get off your arse and go after what you want, you can’t expect it to fall in your lap.”
