LCD Soundsystem confirms third album

LCD Soundsystem will be releasing its much-anticipated third album on May 14 in Australia. Recorded at LA’s The Manshun and mixed at DFA in the band’s hometown of New York from April ‘09 – February ‘10, it has been a long time coming for the album, which is still untitled. This is the band’s latest since their notable 2007 release Sound of Silver, which was Grammy nominated for Best Electronic/Dance Album in 2008.

Writer and producer James Murphy has revealed that LCD’s label is currently tossing up between Drunk Girls and Change as the album’s first single. Murphy has been busy composing the soundtrack to the film Greenberg which features a new LCD Soundsystem song titled “Oh You (Christmas Blues)” Perhaps that’s why he has yet to decide on a title!

The track list is as follows:

Dance Yrself Clean
Drunk Girls
One Touch
All I Want
Change
Hit
Pow Pow
Somebody’s Calling Me
What You Need

Following the release of the record, the band will be kicking off a world tour beginning in California, USA on April 16. We’re also told that an Australian leg could be in the pipeline. Now that would be nice.
