The soulful John Mayer is set to return to Australia in late April for a five-date tour. Headlining his latest album of the same name, the Battle Studies Tour will mark Mayer’s seventh visit to the country.

There are no doubts about Mayer’s massive (and worldwide) fan base, none more evident in his seven Grammy awards or his album sales of over thirteen million. I guess the fact that the tour is now practically sold-out is also some indication of his popularity.

Battle Studies has been described as a “from-the-gut” confessional. If his live show is to be anything like this album, it is sure to make for a very intimate night.
